Mike is a proud Yorkshire lad with over 20 years’ senior management experience in the public and private sectors. Previously, he has worked on strategic business growth for British Land and then moved into local government where he headed up Inward Investment in Economic Development & Regeneration – attracting nine-figure investments into the Leeds City Region to boost GVA.
More recently, Mike has advised Ministers of the Cabinet Office for the Procurement Act 2023, which received Royal Assent to replace and simplify previous legislations. Over the past year he has been quoted and published in the Climate Change Needs Culture Change – EcoBID Report and was one of the main contributors for the RePower London – Infrastructure for Growth research publication, whilst on the New London Architect’s Expert Panel for Transport & Infrastructure.
Currently, Mike holds several policy board positions with the Chamber of Commerce and sits on several working groups and think tanks. He is also a member of the Institute of Economic Development, the Royal Economic Society, and the Institute of Place Management. Mike heads up strategic relations in the public sector for a UK Treasury government backed initiative at Zest – delivering multimillion-pound decarbonisation projects to support the UK with accelerating towards Net Zero.
